Replace Your Next Meal With A Smoothie

Whether you're looking to lose weight or just maintain, Smoothies are a winner! They are a nutritious, convenient, satisfying way to replace either your breakfast, lunch or dinner. You may even want to double up and use smoothies for your get up and get moving snack.

 

Smoothies never get boring as there are tons of ways to gear them to your individual taste buds.  The key is to pack your smoothie full of nutritious, energy building vitimins & antioxidants. 

 

 

 

The way to do that is to lean toward the low in sugar, high in antioxidant fruits and vegetables. (Antioxidants are disease-fighting compounds)  If you prefer a sweet taste for your snack smoothies, try adding a little sweetner such as Stevia (has zero calories). i.e. blueberries, strawberries, apples, pears, bananas, mangoes, pineapple (frozen can be used in winter months).

 

 

 

To get your daily dose of fruits and vegetables, gear your smoothie to the same time of day as well as your mood.  Green smoothies are an awesome way to start your day with a bang.  In one quick and easy drink, you can get a large amount of fruits & vegetables into your daily diet. Start with leafy dark greens (spinach or tuscan kale) which offer high-quality amino acids, important minerals, vitamins, antioxidants and phytonutrients (Phytonutrients are plant chemicals that have protective or disease preventive properties). Add fruits plus liquid as your base,  Get super charged by adding a super food such as chia seed, goji berries, or hemp protein--a little goes a long way. Water is best used in smoothies; but, almond, rice, or hemp milk make a special treat.  Ready, Set, Blend! You’re now on your way to getting that super summer shapely body!
